Emmanuel Iduma

Overview

In my work to date, I am attentive to the overlaps between fiction, memoir, and criticism.

My training in art criticism inclines me to produce work for mainstream art publications, such as Art in America, ArtForum, ArtReview, Aperture, and Brooklyn Rail. In addition, I have contributed to a good number of books by artists, including those by Jo Ractcliffe, Ming Smith, Ibrahim Mahama, Namsa Leuba, Emeka Ogboh, Lina Iris Viktor, and Lorenzo Vitturi.

More recently—following the release of A Stranger’s Pose (2018), and yearslong work on I Am Still With You (2023)—I have written essays and memoir pieces for literary magazines, including Granta, n+1, The Yale Review. I have had my work included in nonfiction anthologies like Best American Travel Writing, and Letters to a Stranger.

Here, I have categorized my writing into nonfiction and criticism, for easy access.
